Barguest de plume

Been craving a de plume for a while now, and initially thought I'd get my fix through the AP series. But then I saw the two NOMs, 4th and 27, and I knew I had to get them. However, one cannot step into the new without knowledge of the past - so here comes Barguest to share some history.

RVHK Yesterday Princess

*Warning! Image heavy post*

While waiting for Queeny to come back from repairs, I started looking around at other TQs. While generally simple in design, a few TQs did catch my eye, in particular Yubi wo Tekika from the TQ 3 pack.

Weapons. Colour. Battleaxe in action!

Finally found the time to sit down and paint my weapons after a couple of busy days. Here's the end result.

Half Moon Battleaxe

After the previous tanto project, I decided to embark on a slightly more ambitious one - a half-moon battleaxe for Wasabi. Drawing on the previous experience, I went out to get myself better equipment and materials, including a metal files set, some wood dowels and hollow styrene tubes.

WWRp Armstrong 1G Medic

This arrived yesterday at my door step, along with a Bertie Medic set. My Medic squad is slowly forming, although I still have a Bramble MK2, a Medic Dropcloth, and a Medic grunt to go. I have a feeling it'll take a long while to get the remaining two bots as I haven't seen them up for sale at all!

Custom Tanto

Ever since I read an article on Radtoyreview regarding DIY custom katanas, I had been itching to try some. Here's the fruit of one whole morning of labour.

The initial blank after cutting from the styrene board.

The Collection Grows...

Been a busy few days travelling out of the country, but I managed to get hooked up into the 3A forums and some BST groups with the help of a friendly forumer. Queeny's still away while Kyoku's still all boxed up, but there's now some new additions to the family. It's amazing how quickly you can burn through your funds collecting these stuff. Fortunately I'm also clearing some of my other collectibles, so the bleeding is slowed down for now.

Initially, I was planning to collect only WWRp robot figures, seeing as that's what got me started in the first place. However, playing with Queeny hooked me up into the world of 1/6 figures, and Popbot is now an interesting avenue to explore as well.

O Queeny My Queeny

For some reason, I'm developing quite an affection for Queeny despite what we've been through. Or in spite of it. Maybe it's because it's my first 1/6 figure. Maybe it's because I still haven't opened Kyoku yet. Maybe because her flaws make her more real and human-like.

The Arrival of the Seven Bones

After a couple of late night research and eBay hunting, I managed to get my paws on a reasonably priced Seven Bones Queeny and Kyoku. I had started out initially wanting to collect only WWRp and AP toys to manage my budget, but I figured I had to see what the fuss was all about with the 1/6. Queeny had received a number of good reviews and wielded a bo staff, while Kyoku was, well, just plain cool with his jacket/windbreaker thingy.

WWRp Heavy Bramble Mk 3

Ah, my first post here, and it starts with a big bad (miniaturised) robot. The Heavy Bramble marks my first Ashley Wood/3A toy I possess, caught up on a sudden whim after spotting it at a local toy shop two days ago. I'm not really a toy collector, though I do have some bad hoarding habits, so this might change from a whim to an addictive hobby. Who knows.
