TKK #1 Oroshi

*Warning. Image heavy post.*

Awhile back at the start of the year, Ashley Wood announced something called the TK Klub, exclusively available only to 2013 3AA members. Thus far, only 3 TKs from the Klub have been sold on Bamba, while the 4th that has been hinted at has yet to come. TKs from the Klub are supposed to be a departure from the previously similar looking TKs, and a return to the 'oldschool sticker boxes'.

Anyway, after a long wait, TKK #1 Oroshi has arrived! Basically a colour variant of the TK Waza that was a Thai expo exclusive, it puts a spin on the usual TK colours by sporting a maroon tone! There were also two chase variants inserted randomly - a dark interloper and a grey interloper. Sadly, I didn't manage to snag any.

Here's some unboxing photos of the sticker box - essentially a wider but flatter cardboard box wrapped with a printed on paper. A clean and simple design.

Oroshi comes with a poster.

Inside the box, the figure is held in place by wire ties. Not too big a fan of this as the figure is not as well protected compared to the plastic clamshell that 3A had been using. My figure came with both knees bent from the figure being shaken to the bottom of the box. There is some sponge behind the figure to absorb some shock from impact, but mine had already came off from under Oroshi.

That said, those who want to flatten their boxes and store it will prefer this to clamshells.

Oroshi can be removed easily from the box to untie the wire ties.

Oroshi freed from his trappings.

Despite being bummed that I didn't get any chase, Oroshi looks really awesome out of the box. I love the jacket compared to the previous ones, as this has a little felt texture to it. The hood is also wired to give it more shape! Pouches are a little different from the older ones as well, slightly softer and possibly a different material.

Oroshi sports a 'new' hairsculpt, which apparently will not be used again, limited only to Waza and this batch of TKs. Underneath that hair is actually a Baka head, which reinforces the running joke that Waza looks like a Baka who had someone pour water over his head. He also comes with the newer pair of shoes that was seen with the Shoguns. I really like the new shoes as well, they are easily removable with some hot water, and provide a flat, solid base for the figure to stand, unlike the OG shoes.

One thing to note though, is that a number of Oroshi figures were missing the VIC tattoo that was shown in the promo pictures, mine included. 3A will be sending out replacement bodies with tattooed arms to everyone at a later date. Impressive move, I wonder how much it actually eats into their margin. Anyway, I'm not really particular about the tattoo, but it means more custom fodder!

Joints were quite tight out of the box, especially the ankle. Mine was so tight there was a squeaking sound when I tried to move them, so I had to loosen it somewhat by gently twisting it a number of times.

Enough words, here's Oroshi making his appearance.

Closer look at the t-shirt that says 'wish we had met last life'.

And that's all folks!

Not!

Of course, having not received any chase figures, I had to hunt down my own. Finding none for sale on the secondary market, the next best thing is to cobble together my own. Here's my spin on an Oroshiloper. Couldn't quite decide to do a darky or gray, so I went with a mix.
