The Shogun Aftermath

Ok, it's about 9AM HKT now and while the sale is still ongoing, I'm done. Pretty much got what I wanted in the first hour, but sat around F5-ing in case a shogun loper of sorts came up. But unfortunately, it didn't. I sure hope it's not a rare chase figure randomly inserted into one of the boxes. Knowing my arse luck, I wouldn't get it even if I bought 10 Shoguns.

Anyway, it's been a draining drop, partly because we had no idea what the secret drops would be and whether there would be anymore waves. At least with the DC 1.5, we knew all the variants were out when all 6 showed up, so I could stop F5-ing by late afternoon, satisfied with my loot.

This time, there was a chance that 10 variants might show up, so even after 6 variants appeared, some of us were still holding out for 4 more.

So, what came out?

There's Shiho the 7 Bones, Tsuki and Gorei as a 2 pack and as individuals. Then there're the two secret drops - Shadow/Light set and DIY. No photos of them yet, just artwork.

The S/L set was surprisingly rare. The first drop appeared around 9.30am or earlier and I didn't see it at all! This was surprising since I was F5-ing like mad in anticipation of the first hour secret drop. The only reason I found out was because someone posted a photo on Facebook. At first, I was skeptical. Someone had asked in the forum if anyone else saw the S/L set, but I thought he was just mucking around. Then I saw the order page and was incredulous that I missed it. 

So, I did a little bit of detective work and figured out the S/L link. Turns out it was still possible to add to cart despite not being visible on the front page. Kinda fishy if you ask me, in the DC drop, it was not possible to add to cart once it was taken off the front page, or at least I didn't try. Anyway, passed the link out to a few collectors but it soon got changed when someone posted the link on the forums. 

DIY appeared next, sometime in the afternoon. Not really keen on it, so I didn't bother. Due to technical problems, it appeared on Gallery3A as well for a pretty long time. An easy drop for those who were keen to get it and were up at that time.

A second drop for both appeared around 5.20pm or so. Again, I totally didn't see the S/L set, although this time I was out so I wasn't able to check as frequently. More people saw it and scored though. Hasn't been anymore drops till now, although I suspect there will be a last one before the extended sales ends. Apparently the sales has been extended for an undetermined amount of time to compensate for those who couldn't purchase due to technical difficulties earlier.

All in all, an expensive but good haul for me. Got my Shiho, the 2pack, and S/L set. Much thanks to KG from Luv. Life. Toys. who helped me save some $$ by scoring the Shiho and 2pack on my behalf.

Now to wait for the 3AA membership coming out in Jan!

Edit: Well well, S/L set appeared for one final time at around 11.30am just after the rest of the sets were taken down. Quite a number of forum boardies scored it this time, and I assume anyone who'd been F5-ing at the final hour.
